NE/X (North East Experimental): A Festival of Indigenous Performance, is a week-long gathering of artists who create from the center to the edge—where movement, memory, and cultural resurgence converge. Curated by SAROS field/works, and Rosy Simas Danse, supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board’s FY 2026 Creative Individuals grant, this festival activates performance spaces in the Northeast Minneapolis arts district, presenting experimental works across dance, music, film and installation.
NE/X: A Festival of Indigenous Performance will take place on November 8-16, 2025, at the Northrup King Building in Minneapolis. We encourage Native/Indigenous artists of various disciplines and phases of their careers to apply.
We are seeking Indigenous artists, performers, designers, and interdisciplinary collaborators to take part in this upcoming performance series and community engagement event which is rooted in Indigenous cosmologies, land-based practice, and embodied futurisms.
Selected artists will receive honorariums ranging from $100 to $1,000, depending on project scope and funding availability.
Additional support includes:
Dramaturgical and directorial support
Tech, install, and space support
Opportunity to present in a national Indigenous platform
